We bought Osney Lodge Farm in 1988, moving from a nearby small-holding.
We have since concentrated on building our herd of pure-bred Sussex cattle, our flock Texel/Suffolk sheep and various breeds of traditional English pigs.
In 2002 we opened our Farm shop to enable customers to buy from us directly.
As farmers we are very aware of the huge interest that customers, quite rightly, have in knowing the origins and traceability of the food they buy. They are also keen to be sure that all livestock is raised in an environment where welfare standards are of the highest order.
The vast majority of our meat is produced on either our own or neighbouring farms. If we buy in from other farmers we source almost exclusively “on the hoof”. This way we can ensure full traceability and quality.
We do not, and never will, stock any product which believe compromises our regard for animal welfare. Products such as battery farmed eggs and Foiegras and factory bacon have no place in our farm shop.
We open our farm to the public once or twice every year, to allow you to see our traditional methods of production.
All our meat is properly matured in our large huge walk-in cold rooms. Our beef is hung for at least three weeks, at around 1oc in forced air circulation.
Finally both of us will always make ourselves available to answer any question or query you may have about the farm, at anytime.
Thank you for your support
